The livin’ is easy with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra’s first concert of 2025!

Enjoy a break from winter with the Springfield Symphony’s “Summertime” at 7:30 p.m. on January 11, 2025, at Juanita K. Hammons Hall. It may be cold outside, but the illustrious sounds of a night at the symphony will warm you up.

We’re puttin’ on the Ritz in honor of our 90th anniversary season, and “Summertime” is a concert sure to transport you to another time. From the late 19th century to the contemporary, “Summertime” is a musical journey you won’t forget.

“Summertime” earns its name from the famous song featured in George Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess,” an opera now celebrating 90 years since its Boston premiere in 1935. The folk opera, as Gershwin called it, tells a story of love, loss, and resilience through the pair of its titular characters.
