Springfield Symphony to perform 13th annual free Halloween concert for local kids and families

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony invites children of all ages and their families to join us for the 13th Annual Spooky Symphony, a free Halloween concert, on Friday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m. at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. The orchestra, all dressed in their Halloween costumes, will be led by guest conductor Raffaele Cipriano, and will feature performances of themes from Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean along with In the Hall of the Mountain King, Night on Bald Mountain, and more.

“I am thrilled to join the Springfield Symphony for the Spooky Concert,” says guest conductor Raffaele Cipriano. “It is an honor to collaborate with the fantastic musicians of the Symphony to bring joy and excitement to children and families with this beloved Springfield tradition.”  Concert attendees are welcome to wear Halloween costumes and join in the social media costume contest for children during the event. Attendees can look forward to the distribution of free ice cream sandwiches generously provided by Hiland Dairy and trick or treat opportunities from Springfield Symphony sponsors and local businesses.

The concert is free, and tickets are required for entry with assigned seating. Per the Springfield Symphony Board of Directors, masks will be mandatory for SSO staff, patrons, and musicians in Hammons Hall for our Spooky Symphony. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and seating will begin at 6:30 p.m. Springfield Symphony’s Spooky Symphony concert is sponsored by Walnut Street Inn, Hiland Dairy, Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, and Kids Directory. To reserve your free tickets for Spooky Symphony, visit www.springfieldmosymphony.org/events/spooky-symphony.
