Springfield Symphony closes its season with a Spanish flourish!
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony (SSO) will hold its final pops concert, Flamenco! on Saturday, May 7th at 7:30 p.m. We will finish our season of dance music with an evening of vibrant and thrilling Flamenco music with Kansas City’s own Flamenco group – Ensemble Iberica. Hear the rhythms and melodies of Spain as the orchestra is joined by guitar, percussion, and vocals and watch as the drama of the Flamenco dance is brought to life on stage to close out our Dance Mix season! This performance will be held at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
“I am really excited to finish out our season with a concert of Flamenco music,” said Music Director and Conductor Kyle Wiley Pickett. “I’m also really thrilled to be working with Ensemble Iberica. Flamenco is such a beautiful style – the dancing, the guitars, the rhythms, and the folk-style singing are so evocative of the people and history of Spain. Our Flamenco performers will be featured both on their own and with the full orchestra backing them up. This is a concert I have been looking forward to all year long!”
Single Tickets are $10 – $45 with discounts available for students and seniors.
