Springfield Symphony opens its Swipe Right season with a fiery selection of music about passionate love
The Springfield Symphony will commence its 88th consecutive season on Saturday, September 17th with Relationship Status: It’s Complicated, the first installment of a concert series full of music about love, composers in love, and the music we love to love. The 2022-2023 season will continue the traditional nine-concert subscription series.
The explosive first concert of the season will include Barber’s School for Scandal Overture and Wagner’s Wotan’s Farewell and Magic Fire Music featuring this month’s guest artist, bass-baritone Ben Wager. The evening will conclude with the mesmerizing music of Rimsky-Korsakov’s beguiling Scheherazade, which tells the story of a Sultan’s clever wife who tells him tales over a thousand and one nights and thereby wins his love. You won’t want to miss this opening night full of love and passion!
This concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. Single Tickets are $25 – $50 with discounts available for students and seniors.
