The first Symphony concert of the New Year will be led by Markand Thakar. Thakar is currently the music director of the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra in Minnesota, the music director of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and principal conductor of the Duluth Festival Opera. The concert will feature Missouri State University music professors Wei-Han Su and Hye-Jung Hong on pianos. The concert will begin with Mendelssohn’s beautiful "Hebrides Overture," move to Poulenc’s quick and exciting "Concerto for Two Pianos," and conclude with Tchaikovsky’s exhilarating "Symphony No. 5."
