JOAN GASAWAY, CELLO

Mrs. Joan Gasaway has enjoyed a career in string music education in the classroom/studio and directed youth orchestras for twenty years in the Derby, Kansas and Springfield, Missouri public schools.  She has performed cello with the Springfield Symphony, Wichita Symphony, Ft. Smith Symphony, Northwest Arkansas Symphony, Second Baptist Orchestra, area chamber ensembles, and community service groups. Joan is past President and board member of the Missouri American String Teachers Association/ The National School Orchestra Association, Missouri Music Educators, and National Educator’s Association.  She is recipient of the Outstanding Educator award and named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
