Due to the escalation of the coronavirus outbreak in our community and across the nation; the SSO Board, Executive Director, and Music Director along with a task force have taken the position that we must be proactive, follow the recommendations given, and protect the health of our patrons, musicians, and staff.  Therefore, we are cancelling the March 28th concert and concert-related events. We are exploring rescheduling The Civil War in Missouri at a later time.

Please click here to learn more about this cancellation and updates on the Symphony's upcoming concerts and events.

We are pleased to present a powerful new oratorio by Missouri composer Stefan FreundThe War Amongst  Families and Neighbors: The Civil War in Missouri. This moving, large-scale work for orchestra, chorus, and soloists includes Civil War-era songs, as well as letters, editorials, and battle reports.

Wilson's Creek National Battlefield Foundation will bring a touch of local history with a cannon, Wilson's creek volunteers in costumes, and information about our local battlefield! While bringing to life these stories, we will be joined by local university choirs and soloists for this works that will bring alive voices from this tragic chapter in Missouri's history.
