Springfield Symphony breaks single ticket record for fourth straight year

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony Orchestra ends its 82nd consecutive season, Extreme Symphony, once again with record high single ticket sales for the nine subscription concert season.

The Symphony is pleased to report sales of $99,263 in single tickets during the 2016-17 season, an 18% increase from $83,564 during the 2015-16 season and a 10% increase in attendance for the 2016-17 season.

“I continue to be grateful for the amazing enthusiasm the community has shown for the Springfield Symphony,” said Kyle Wiley Pickett, music director/conductor for the Springfield Symphony. “For the fourth year in a row, I am hearing from patrons who are so excited about what we’re doing and the way we’re doing it. I love hearing from audience members that they had never gone to a symphony before and they loved it, and they want to come back for more. I love hearing from people who have been going to the symphony for years and they see the Springfield Symphony getting better and better. We are fortunate to be able to continue to grow artistically and the fact that every year for the last four years we’ve smashed our previous single ticket sales just confirms that our audiences are growing along with us. It’s a pretty awesome position to be in for an arts organization, and we are thrilled and grateful.”

The Symphony’s 2017-2018 season, Revolution, begins on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Season tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling the Symphony office at (417) 864-6683 and single tickets will be on sale starting September 1, 2017.
