Springfield Symphony performs love songs with sensational jazz vocalist

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony will feature vocalist Steve Lippia in Simply Swingin’ – an Evening with Sinatra and Friends at the pops concert Will You Be My Valentine? on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.

An exciting and entertaining new show featuring vocal sensation Steve Lippia singing American Pop songs—of yesterday and today—made famous by Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Vic Damone, and Bobby Darin. Steve Lippia took the Pops world by storm performing his original show “Simply Sinatra” to sold-out audiences across North America! He has become one of the most prominent, in-demand vocalists and has quickly established his place among the finest interpreters of “standards” and traditional pop music in the nation.

“Our February concert is a perfect Valentine’s night out for anyone who loves the great jazz standards of the Rat Pack era,” said Kyle Wiley Pickett, music director/conductor for the Springfield Symphony. “ Our soloist, Steve Lippia, is a wonderful singer and artist and his performance will have you tapping your feet and humming along with some of the most memorable songs ever written. You’ll hear ‘Fly Me to the Moon,’ ’Mack the Knife,’ ‘Strangers in the Night,’ ‘I’ve Got You Under My Skin,’ and, of course, ‘My Way.’ These are classics that have already lasted many generations and never lose their appeal to listeners of all ages, and I know our audiences are just going to have a fantastic night at the symphony.”

Pre-concert music will begin at 6:45 p.m.  Tickets are currently on sale at the Juanita K. Hammons Hall box office, and can be purchased by calling (417) 836-7678 or online at www.missouristatetix.com.  Ticket prices range from $10 – $40 and discounts are available for students and seniors.

Pickett is available for any interviews or questions.  Please feel free to email him at kwpickett@gmail.com or call at (417) 837-9422.  The concert is being sponsored by Reliable Superstore (Presenting Sponsor), Don Wessel Honda, Carla L. Calvin, Ozarks FOX KRBK, 417 Magazine and KWTO 560 AM.
