Ransom EllisRANSOM ELLIS, BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Ransom A. Ellis, III was born and raised in Springfield and attended the Springfield Public Schools.  He graduated form Texas Christian University and Southern Methodist University’s School of Law.  Mr. Ellis is a shareholder in the Springfield law firm of Ellis, Ellis, Hammons & Johnson, P.C. where he is primarily engaged in the practice of labor/employment law, exclusively representing management, and in the representation of public and private schools, colleges, and universities.

Prior to being appointed to the Symphony’s Board of Directors in 2005, Mr. Ellis served on the Symphony Board from 1996 through 2002.  Mr. Ellis has also served as the Chairperson for the Missouri School Boards Association- Council of School Attorneys; President and member of the Board of the Museum of the Ozarks (now History Museum of Springfield-Greene County); Chairman of the City of Republic’s Planning and Zoning Commissions; and as a member of the Board of the Greene County Historic Sites Board.  Mr. Ellis, his wife, and five children reside in Republic Missouri.
