KRISTI S. FULNECKY, ESQ. , BOARD MEMBER
Mrs. Kristi Fulnecky, Esq. is an attorney and most recently has practiced in the areas of Indian and Gaming Law. Prior to moving to Springfield from Washington, D.C. three years ago, Kristi worked in private practice focusing on Native American Law and was previously employed as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Interior, Solicitor’s Office, Division of Indian Affairs. Prior to practicing law, Kristi worked for defense and aerospace management consulting firms and contractors supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, specifically the U.S. Navy and Department of the Navy. Prior to working in the defense area, Kristi worked for U.S. Congressman Mel Hancock in his Washington, D.C. office and was employed as an intern for U.S. Senator Kit Bond.
Kristi graduated law school from Indiana University – Bloomington School of Law and was Managing Editor of the Federal Communications Law Journal. She received her B.A. from University of Missouri – Columbia.
Kristi is a member of many professional and civic organizations. Professionally, she is a member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, the Missouri Bar, the Native American Bar Association (Comanche tribal member), the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., Missouri, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Civically, in addition to being a member of the Springfield Symphony Board of Directors, Kristi is a Board Member of the St. John’s Clinic Culture Club and is a member of the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball Planning Committee. She is a former member of the Springfield Ballet Board of Directors.
Kristi is a Springfield native and moved back three years ago from the Washington, D.C. area. Her husband, Eric, is a physician at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield and is originally from Arlington, Virginia. They have three daughters (ages 4, 2, and 1), and are members of Immaculate Conception Parish.
