BEN GULLEY

Ben Gulley, up-and-coming tenor sensation, 23, of Blue Springs MO, is a 2008 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music and Dance. Ben is the recent winner of the Hellam Young Artists’ Competition, Silver Medalist of the Crescendo Music Competition, and a finalist for the prestigious Palm Beach Opera Competition amongst others. He has recently been seen on stage of the Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s production of Die Zauberflote as the First Armored Man as well as a priest in Aida. Other appearances include Tony Espozito in UMKC’s prodution of The Most Happy Fella, Lt. B.F. Pinkerton in Madamma Butterly, Sam Polk in Susannah at Opera in the Ozarks, and as Stromboli in the world premiere of Stephen Schwartz’s new musical Gepetto and Son with the Coterie Theater. This upcoming season, Ben will be making his European debut as Rodolpho in La Boheme with Lviv Opera Theater and the Odessa National Opera, Ukraine. He will also be debuting the role of Turridu in Cavalieria Rusticana with Kansas Concert opera. He is currently a student of Professor Dale Morehouse. A CD project with internationally recognized pianist Jura Margulis is in the works and is slated to be available at the end of this Summer.
